These include technologically more ambitious weapons that can be used more easily. This is the implementation of a decision made at the NATO Warsaw Summit in 2016 to revise nuclear strategy. The U.S. Air Force will temporarily deploy four aircraft and crews to Curaçao to support drug-interdiction operations.
An E-8 Joint STARS (JSTARS) and an E-3 Sentry Airborne Early Warning aircraft, supported by two KC-135 Stratotankers, will soon fly detection and monitoring missions in international airspace to support U.S. and international law enforcement authorities fighting criminal organizations trafficking illegal narcotics in the Caribbean region, the U.S. Southern Command has announced.
AFRICOM as the colonization of Africa by the US
BAP (Black Aliance for Peace) is intensifying the work against the U.S. African Command (AFRICOM, Stuttgart Germany) as we link the work against the war being waged on African people in the U.S. by the domestic army we call the police and U.S. militarism abroad against African people and other colonized peoples’ and nations.
BAP’s U.S. Out of African Campaign has developed an international network of over two hundred activists from around the world – the U.S. Out of African Network (USOAN).
Tunde Osazua, BAP Network coordinator discusses the project and the issues driving AFRICOM and the U.S. basing and command structures.

With Massachusetts Peace Action, last night CPDCS held what I think was a uniquely important webinar last night titled “Authoritarianism or Democracy” with Noam Chomsky, the historian Van Gosse, and the African-American (BLM & Poor People’s Campaign) organizer Ty dePasse.
It was, I think, uniquely excellent and had 640 people registered from across the U.S. and four other countries, and I thought to share it with you I was the lead organizer, but didn’t have to appear online.
Noam’s analysis will likely be quite familiar to you, but Van Gosse’s presentation was comprehensive and chilling and concluded with a dose of hope. And Ty described the daily experiences of white supremicist authoritarianism for People of Color, beginning with a terrible example here in Boston.

The western alliance is assuming a stronger posture in relationship to China. US experts call for NATO operations in the Pacific.
BERLIN/WASHINGTON (Own report) – NATO should systematically expand its military exercises and operations into the Asia-Pacific region, an expert of Washington’s Atlantic Council think tank proposes in the intensifying debate on the posture the western war alliance should assume in relationship to the People’s Republic of China. China’s “presence in the Arctic, in Africa and in the Mediterranean” calls for a response, according to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Think tanks suggest that NATO should more closely monitor Chinese investments in the European infrastructure, because “civilian roads, ports and rails” under construction with Chinese participation “are an integral part of NATO’s plans for military mobilization.” NATO is also strengthening its relations with “global partners” such as Japan, South Korea and Australia. For the first time, Australia’s defense minister participated at the meeting of the NATO Ministers of Defense that ended yesterday. The Atlantic Council is also suggesting the establishment of a NATO military headquarters in the Asia-Pacific region.
