Inextricably linked existential threats to humanity. by Pat Elder In Greek mythology, the tale of Daedalus and his son, Icarus provides a lesson that humanity has never learned. Daedalus created wings from feathers and wax. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun for fear that the wax would melt. Icarus took off, exhilarated with the invention, and soared exuberantly toward the sun. His wings fell apart, and Icarus fell to his death. Remarkable technologies may escape … Continue reading →
The US is incinerating is leftover stockpiles of the most lethal types of firefighting foams containing PFAS. The process is deadly to surrounding communities because the materials typically can’t be destroyed by incineration. I had a conversation with a retired Environmental Protection Agency official in New York last week and she told me there have been no shipments of retired PFAS foam from NATO bases in Europe to the U.S. for incineration. So, tens of thousands of the most … Continue reading →
The Pentagon’s Task Force Progress Report released on March 13, 2020 has the audacity to suggest that American military actions have satisfactorily addressed PFAS on military installations outside of the United States. Nothing could be further from the truth! The DOD has poisoned a variety of water sources in Germany, Japan, Guam, Diego Garcia, Honduras, and Belgium to name a few contaminated places.
Not a single major world media outlet reported on this outrageously false report. In classic form, the global warmakers published their long-awaited falsehoods when no one was paying attention.. The DOD announced that 250 new bases are poisoned, bringing the total to 651.
There are many lessons in my article below for people fighting American imperialism globally. The Pentagon is poisoning all of us while lying about it. Grab the low-lying poisonous fruit as an effective form of resistance.
Here’s a follow up report from NBC News on PFAS that ran on U.S. nationwide TV last night and this morning. I featured in their first report. I told them about all of the dead dogs reported by people who live in communities near US military bases as a testament to the heavily contaminated surface water and suggested they go find that story. You know how dogs drink from puddles? I’m happy it came out in this report. I think … Continue reading →
