Gaza residents are currently facing the deadliest offensive in their history. This comes on top of the humanitarian disaster caused by the Israeli blockade that has been in place for 16 years. We unequivocally condemn all attacks on civilian populations, including Hamas’ attacks on Israeli civilians that have killed over a thousand people since 7 October. However, no attack justifies violations of the laws of war. Continue reading →

Continue reading →One year on from the deadly Hamas attacks of October 7th, 42,000 people have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, Israel has invaded Lebanon, and the possibility of a wider war with Iran is increasing. Never has it been clearer that justice for Palestine is the key to peace in the Middle East, and millions across the world will not cease their protests until a lasting ceasefire is achieved and Palestine is sovereign and free.
But these global demands for ceasefire and justice are not confined to popular protests – they are also the demands of states, of global institutions, including the International Court of Justice and the UN General Assembly. Yet powerful states go against law and justice, arming the extreme-right Israeli government that is perpetrating slaughter and brutality on an unimaginable scale.
As many have observed, the conflict did not begin on October 7th 2023. The systematic deprivation of Palestinian rights and sovereignty over decades, has been compounded by years of occupation and an inhuman siege of Gaza for 17 years.
It’s time for this to end. Israel’s war machine, its apartheid system, its nuclear impunity, have to end. As French President Macron states, there must be a total halt to arms supplies to Israel. Diplomatic and political support must end until law and justice are complied with, and economic boycott, divestment and sanctions must also be implemented. There can be no possibility of business as usual with a country that has dispossessed a people and is waging genocide upon them.
The peace movement globally stands together with the people of Palestine and all those seeking a just peace in the Middle East, where all are free to live in peace.
To this end we make the following demands:
Déclaration du comité international de coordination (ICC)
du réseau international NO TO WAR – NO TO NATO
Stop au génocide israélien. Non à l’extension de la guerre. Agissez maintenant!
by Pablo Ruiz Espinoza, USA: Between war and the courage to negotiate USA: Between war and the courage to negotiate President Joe Biden’s recent decision to approve a $95 billion military aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan is very bad for the world because it assures us that conflicts and military escalation will continue, with undoubted consequences for everyone. Before this presidential approval, DW News reported that the US House of Representatives had approved the military aid package, showing … Continue reading →

A new start for the World Social Forum
On the surface, things look very good. Trees are covering more and more areas. In pictures from above, the Himalayan valleys are green, two-thirds forest. But 90 per cent are conifers. Below them there is hardly any vegetation, biodiversity is being lost, the soil is becoming more and more sterile, dry, unusable and unable to store water. The Himalayas are rapidly becoming what is known as a green desert. There is also less and less snow. This is accelerating the melting of the glaciers.
The WSF in Nepal on 15-19 February was the 16th time the meeting was held. 18000 registered participants took part in 400 activities from over 1100 organisations. The organisers estimate that people from 98 countries participated and that 50,000 people passed through the Forum during the meeting days. The march on the opening day was attended by 12,000 to 15,000 people. Participants came primarily from Nepal and neighbouring countries in South Asia, mainly India but also Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka … Continue reading →
