Ann Wright in an interview with Andrea Beck by weltnetz.tv
Ann Wright is a retired United States Army colonel, who left the Army because of her opposition to the Iraq War and engaged in the US peace movement particularly with Code Pink USA.
Wright explains in an interview with Andrea Beck why she is participating in the protest activities against the G20 in Hamburg – she says NO to globalisation and NO to the concentration of wealth and prosperity in hands of very few people. Ann Wright´s wish is that the G20 discuss peace and conflict dissolution without war.

mailing ICAN 13.07.2017 Dear friends, Last week we banned nuclear weapons. It still feels a bit surreal to think that we pulled it off. But what does it all mean? Treaties and international law is sometimes a complex issue, and we’ve gotten a lot of questions about what the treaty does and how it will work. So we thought we collect the most common questions we get. What does the treaty prohibit? The treaty prohibits states from developing, testing, producing, manufacturing, … Continue reading →

a letter from Joseph Gerson AFSC, USA I had the privilege of attending the opening and penultimate sessions of the Nuclear Weapons Ban and Prohibition Treaty negotiations at the U.N. this spring and summer. One day after and some rest one may finally ask the question what did the summit achieve for whom politically? This is the attempt approaching the reality of the G20 summit. It will name the deeply undemocratic and aggressive behavior of the police, the impressive and courageous protest, and the outstanding demonstration of the 76,000 as well as the condemnable actions of the criminal mob. We will learn how many provocateurs were involved. An independent commission is highly needed. What … Continue reading →
