Call for international actions against the NATO Summit, Brussels May 2017
Put people first, no to war!

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on February 12, 2017 by kristineApril 17, 2017

This appeal was agreed by the 2nd international preparatory meeting for actions against the NATO summit 24/25 May 2017 in Brussels.

Call for international actions against the NATO Summit, Brussels May 2017

Put people first, no to war!

This year’s NATO summit will be US President Donald Trump’s first. It will be held in May at NATO’s brand new headquarters in Brussels, a city that hosts both NATO and the European Union – two institutions that co-operate closely on their military policies.

NATO and its member states participate in illegal wars and military interventions, from Yugoslavia to Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq, Syria, the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Ocean. They contribute massively to international instability, fuelling the arms race and militarization. NATO remains committed to humanity’s biggest threat: nuclear weapons.

From summit to summit, NATO perpetuates, enforces and extends its policy of war and domination. Continue reading →

Trump Time: Time to End the Special Relationship

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on January 7, 2017 by kristineJanuary 7, 2017

The election of President Trump should throw Britain’s toxic relationship with the US into severe question says Chris Nineham

Written by Chris Nineham, Stop the War coalition UK on 04 January 2017. Posted in News & Comment

The ‘special relationship’ between Britain and the US, announced by Winston Churchill soon after World War Two, has been toxic from the start. It is a collaboration that has always demanded unswerving support for US superpower aspirations. But the price keeps getting higher.  Thatcher’s partnership with Ronald Reagan involved turning Britain into an offshore nuclear missile launchpad and provided a transatlantic power base for the neoliberal economics that has wreaked such havoc around the world. The Chilcot report made it official that Tony Blair’s ‘I will be with you whatever’ relationship with George Bush was a ‘determining factor’ in Britain’s lead role in the catastrophic war on Iraq.

The election of Donald Trump as US president means the most powerful office on Earth belongs to someone who promised to build a giant wall along the Mexican border, the expulsion of 11 million “illegal” immigrants and “extreme vetting” for Muslims entering the country.

Its been nine Christmas and New Year’s holidays that we in Hawaii have been challenging policies of the Obama administration — beginning in December 2008 before President-elect Obama was sworn into office — on the issue of his silence on the 27-day Israeli attack on Gaza that killed 1,400 Palestinians.

Statement U.S. Peace Council, November 25, 2016 Executive Summary: Regarding the election victory of Donald Trump, the US Peace Council first of all salutes the massive demonstrations that call for improving workers’ lives, saving the environment, respecting women, opposing racism, supporting immigrants and rejecting Islamophobia. While much of what Trump said during the campaign and what he stands for is divisive and destructive, it is unlikely that a majority of Trump supporters voted based on Trump’s scapegoating statements. NO to TRUMP and his Racism! NO to the War at Home!

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on January 1, 2017 by kristineJanuary 8, 2017

Statement from United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC), USA

We stand in solidarity with all oppressed people under attack at  home and abroad!
We urge full participation in the anti-Trump demonstrations!

In reaction to Donald Trump’s election victory, tens of thousands of people, most of them youth, have taken to the streets across the country in militant protests to condemn the racism, sexism, Islamophobia and anti-immigrant bigotry that Trump represents. Many are fearful, especially immigrants, Muslims and LGBT people. Their rage and that of their supporters signify the movement that needs to be built to end racism, wars and the attacks on working people endemic in the U.S. today.

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on October 2, 2016 by kristineNovember 26, 2016

NATO is now, more than ever, a destabilizing war machine threatening peace and security in the world, not least because it continues with its first strike nuclear policy. This war machine is plundering the treasuries of member states, and is jointly responsible for the fact that millions of people are fleeing from war. The lucky survivors arrive in Europe and succeed in their applications for asylum – but increasingly often they do not even survive the Mediterranean crossing. In addition, … Continue reading →

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on September 25, 2016 by kristineSeptember 25, 2016

shannon-airport-21st-century-war-2016As you know my country was partitioned by British Imperialism in the early 20th Century and the six counties of Northern Ireland has been part of NATO since its foundation which is one of the reasons why we strongly congratulate the N0-to NATO grouping in all its campaign activity.

However as you know since 2002 the Republic of Ireland ( the other 26 counties) has been a de facto US Airforce Base and has allowed well over 2.5 million US troops land in Shannon Airport as they take part in its Doctrine of Perpetual War.

PANA/IAWM/Shannonwatch has published a new pamphlet, ‘Shannon Airport and 21st Century War’.

Obama’s Drone Lies

No to war - no to NATO Network Posted on August 1, 2016 by kristineAugust 10, 2016
