Shannonwatch campaigns to end the US military use of Shannon Airport and to demand accountability for the
airport’s complicity in human rights abuse and war. It opposes the participation of Ireland in all regional military
alliances and structures, including those of the EU and NATO. It holds peace demonstrations at Shannon Airport
on the second Sunday of every month from 2 to 3pm.

The Peace & Neutrality Alliance campaigns for the right of the Irish people to have their own independent foreign
policy, with positive neutrality as a key component, pursued primarily through a reformed Unite Nations.

I have documented the use of toxic fire-fighting foam at more than a dozen NATO bases in Germany and I’ve analyzed the levels of one poison in particular – PFOS – in the rivers near these bases and in the fish caught near these bases.  NATO allows the toxic chemicals to contaminate groundwater and surface water. PFOS never breaks down, so it likely will sicken people forever.

September 2020 In weiten Teilen Europas haben NATO-Militärstützpunkte hunderttausende Liter giftiger Feuerlöschschäume, die eine Vielzahl von PFAS-Chemikalien enthalten, während routinemäßiger Brandbekämpfungsübungen verwendet und nachlässig entsorgt. Die wässrigen filmbildenden Schäume (AFFF) werden seit den frühen 1970er Jahren verwendet und konnten in den Boden eindringen und Grundwasser, Boden und Oberflächenwasser zu kontaminieren.
