What someone should do Down Under. is to organize an occupation of Pine gap, and refuse to leave!
20:24:08 Von Michael Goodman an Alle:
How far is this proposed base from the NSA base at pine gap?
20:25:29 Von Ross Gwyther an Alle:
about 1500 km
20:28:29 Von Ross Gwyther an Alle:
The movement in Australia has had a number of campaigns over the past 50 years to build understanding of the role of Pine Gap, which is near Alice Springs, in the US war fighting . It is a highly secure US base with no Australian government control. Our last IPAN national conference was held in Alice Springs and included a protest and attempted occupation of Pine Gap.
20:32:47 Von Michael Goodman an Alle:
They really should attempt another occupation there. How can something on Australian territory have no Australian Government control? Sounds like Guantanamo!
20:36:28 Von Michael Goodman an Alle:
Actually Canberra is Australia’s capital, not Melbourne! lol
20:39:47 Von Ross Gwyther an Alle:
The main activity of IPAN over the past year has been a widespread people’s inquiry into the costs and consequences of Australian involvement in US-led wars, and the Australia US alliance. We are close to publishing the resulting detailed report of the outcomes of that Inquiry, and certainly one of the aspects of concern has been the role of Pine Gap in

Has IPAN looked at the role of the USA in the removal of Australian PM Gough Whitlam?
20:43:14 Von Ross Gwyther an Alle:
Yes the role of the US in the removal of the Whitlam ALP government has been much discussed. the US Ambassador at the time, Marshall Green, had been previously in Chile duringthe coup there. The Whitlam government was moving to reduce the role of Pine Gap when it was removed.
20:44:34 Von Michael Goodman an Alle:
I believe that there have also been recent revelations about the role of the ASIO/ASIS in the coup in Chile in ’73!

Must have seen another dog! lol

this is what I found: Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Act 1998 (the ARPANS Act), and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (the EPBC Act). These Acts expressly prohibit the approval, licensing, construction, or operation of a nuclear fuel fabrication plant; a nuclear power plant; an enrichment plant; or a reprocessing facility. There is also a range of other legislation, including state and territory legislation, which regulates nuclear and radiation-related activities.

I come to you from the lands First Nations people in Australia, peoples who have lived continuously and sustainably here for over 50 thousand years and who over the past 230 years have been subjected to invasion occupation and violence. We call for an immediate ceasefire and genuine negotiations between Ukraine and Russia to bring peace and justice to the people of Ukraine. The working people of Ukraine have the right to self-determination and sovereignty, to determine their country’s future.
This war is between big powers (US/NATO/Russia) for control of spheres of influence in Europe, particularly East Europe. It is clear Ukraine is a proxy in this big powers’ war. The Ukrainian and Russian people
