Inspired at primary school by the annual Welsh youth message of peace and goodwill to become a lifelong campaigner for peace, particularly within Cymdeithas y Cymod (the Fellowship of Reconciliation in Wales). Instrumental in the recent establishment of the Academi Heddwch Cymru – the new research institute for peace matters within Welsh Universities.
Originator of the Stepping Stones Approach, the backbone of the 16-nation Stockholm Initiative for Nuclear Disarmament formed in 2019. Former Executive Director of BASIC (British American Security Information Council) 2007-2019. Weekly talk show host on Iranian TV covering political and security matters 2007-2012. Green Party Co-Leader of Oxford City Council (2000-02) and Green rep on the Stop the War Coalition 2002-05. Host of Peckham Quaker Meeting since 2003.
