Concerning the military activity:
Today arrived the Integrity in the port of Antwerp (https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:435941/mmsi:367063310/vessel:INTEGRITY – 2 days later than scheduled). This was the first ship with US military material for Defender 2020. Earlier this month a UK vessel has unloaded material.
I noticed, after the Endurance which arrived Saturday, at least 2 ships under way for Bremerhaven from Savannah: the Green Bay (just arrived) en the Green Lake (ETA 2 March, but these times can change a lot):
For Antwerp (or perhaps Vlissingen) I suspect the following ships could be coming:
- https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:454055/mmsi:368026000/vessel:USNS%20BENAVIDEZ (just left the port of Beaumont for an unspecified European destination)
This suspicion is based on the type of ship (vehicles carrier under US flag and regularly used by the US military, or Navy ship) and the port it is now moored. The destination on the tracking websites is not yet given or not credible. So to be confirmed. In Antwerp 5 ships from the US are expected, and still another from the UK.
On Vlissingen I know nothing, but it could be the same ships. Further transport from Vlissingen can also be by barge instead of railway.
